10/52 Beef at CHOWABUNGGA :)

CHOWABUNGGA, Another found restaurant where to spend good times with the ones you love.

Class days are now finally over, To chill for lunch, Tasya decided to eat at Chowabungga Mango ave. branch.

I had this wonderful Chowa beef bowl, The serving was quite small but the taste was great and fulfilling. The thin slices of premium beef simmered in  Japanese broth served over a steaming bowl of rice and yasai itame (That's what their menu says :P)  left a great kick on me though, I wish they served it with more rice , cause the beef was a lot, I really noticed.

Chowa beef Kicks for only 70 pesos (excluding your drink) YUM

The place itself greets a warming melody as you go inside, The chairs and tables seems so quite but beautiful.

Chowabungga is a "self-service" restaurant, They still prepare your food so, Patience is needed. For me service is good, we waited for less than 10 mins then our food was already served hot on our table. They also have these "pamachows" (served with sinangag gift wrapped in 2-egg omellete, Toci,Tapa, long etc.) Silogs as what pinoys call them.
Chowabungga also serves Chinese,Korean,Indian,Mexican and Japanese dishes so you better try it out sometime :)

Chowabunnga also have these pinoy desserts like halo-halo (special,75 and regular,55), Banana ice(30), Mais con yelo(40), and Chocolate cake(40)

We had mais con yelo good cooling for a sunny day :)

9/52 Let's puff the puffy puffs

You may not be perfect in all things, but there are things that can never be perfect without you :) Week nine is pre-finals week, Studying results to eat-a lot-to-relieve-stress-and-have-an-awesome-break :)

Let's make some fun out of this week, to wrap out I will share how to make simple yummy cream puffs with vanilla and coffee-choco filling

First let's get what you'll need:
Sauce pan
Baking sheets
Preheated oven (400F)

Prepare these stuffs for the choux pastry

1 cup (250ML) of water
1/2 cup (150g) butter
1 cup all purpose flour
4 large eggs
1/2 tsp salt

Method:
First, In a sauce pan mix water, butter and salt. Melt the butter and bring to boil. Reduce heat (make sure butter is completely melted) Then add the flour stir it vigorously until the mixture is thick and smooth and if it leaves the sides if the pan. Remove from heat, Beat in eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition mix until mixture is smooth and well blended.

In a baking sheet drop mixture from a tablespoon about 2 inches apart. Bake for 30mins (400F) and bake for 10 mins more (350F)

For the filling we will need,

1/2 cup sugar
2tbsp Cornstarch
1/2 tsp salt
2 cup milk
2 egg yolks
2tbsp butter
1 tsp vanilla
2 tsp coffee
1tbsp cocoa powder

In a sauce pan, Mix sugar, cornstarch, and salt, Stir in milk cook until thick (stir it constantly but not rapidly you might waste your filling: P) Stir little amount of hot mixture into eggs and add it up. Add butter and vanilla cook until thick.

We made two variations the other one was coffee-choco cream filling
I just got half of the finished cream filling added it with coffee and cocoa powder.

Time to fill the puffs with the filling,

Just get a pastry bag/piping bag with a small tip, fill your piping bag and give some hit into filling it.

Our friends enjoyed with these small sweet things. I'm grateful as always when I see people enjoying the happiness of food with me.

Enjoy making your puffs :)

Me and tasya :) face it puffs :))
