Last week of my 52-week food project, and I wanna make this post a short but thoughtful one.
Remembering that one traffickky night heading home, we had a good dinner crash at Kandingan ni Rex in SRP (South Road Properties) with my friends Jillian Marie Reyes and Mica PeƱaredondo.
Entering was pleasant, the feeling of home and the place was big and clean.
We immediately ordered their house kalderetang kanding and Larang (of course this is my fav!)
Larang |
Larang is a Visayan term of "fish stew with a lot of spices" some add coconut milk on it to make it more flavorful. This waved a lil tangy for me and the fish was so tender, good with hot rice and Pepsi :) (so pinoy!)
Kalderetang kanding |
This is the Kalderetang kanding or "goat stew" in English. The bony meat of the goat is slow cooked and added with tomato sauce, bell peppers, potatoes and carrots. Their version was sweet and not disgusting, I know a lot of people who doesn't like this. All of these dishes are cooked in big woks that will welcome you on your arrival. Their spoons and forks are friendly cause they are sterilized in a pot with freakin boiling water over a grill with charcoal.
