Duz Grill ••• A homey deluxe

When you feel things go wrong and certainly not in the way you wanted them to be, change route and go head to Duz Grill. It's a place where crews and the owner/chef Alduz "Duz" Aizon makes sure that you'll feel the warmth of home.  I always wanted to visit Duz grill, in the rear of the spreading blog posts about it and I also heard a lot of great comments from friends that already  tried the place.

A home turned restaurant , Duz Grill (obviously the name was got from the owner/chef 's name)  was instituted last January 2013 but Chef Duz, already accepted "meals for delivery" even before Duz grill was born. Burgers and Ribs are Duz Grill 's house specialties keeping my imaginations off I headed to Duz to have for what I've been looking for , after the longest.


The place

No signage but this is the gate of Duz Grill.

After that blue gate, the Alfresco area at Duz 's garden will greet you the warmest hello. It was one of the sweetest I've seen and they look more mellow at dinner time, to cut this, it's just so romantic.

So this is Duz 's house, the family stays upstairs while the restaurant is situated downstairs.

As you enter Duz grill, you'll feel like a friend or a relative being invited for a little you-and-family-and-friends-time over some home style grilled ribs. The whole place was intimate and very homey and being in the home-restaurant business the whole family is in, Duz 's mother bakes the cupcakes here and she also decided the interior of the place.

I love burgers especially the one from Dong Juan they got my heart, my acheey breakyyy heart :P. I'm in love with burgers and I'm telling you not being bias, after tasting Duz Grill 's burger it left me unconscious. The whole package was well-thought-out and the burger carried explosive flavors dashing inside my mouth. I loved how charred crisp it is on the outside, but so meaty and juicy in the inside.

Grrrr!, Sorry for the picture camera doesn't wanna work with me I don't know what's wrong with it, I badly need a new one especially the one from my wishlist Hahaha. The Ribs, were succulent and tender, literally "fall of the bone" you won't even need a knife for this dish, the dish was so flavorful which makes me top it as the most unique ribs in town. The flavor was not the usual "flaming barbecue", it was a combination of    4S ' s -- Sweet, Sour, Smokey and a lil Spicy. Everything about the dish pretty amazed the girl, their stir fried vegetable sidings was tasty as of the ribs it seems a pleasing combination to a hefty slab of precious meat. Sorry again for the picture. :/


Their House blended iced tea deserves a mention too! And what adorable and elegant rice containers I see right there baby! :)

Duz Grill is the best place to bring your date boys, heard it right from me but be sure to reserve yourselves a space. Call ahead and ensure yourselves a table from the hearts room or a table from the alfresco area it will surely melt the heart of your love :) Tweet me after okay? :)

Irie Gastropubliko ••• Kind of food that everyone loves

On the evening my friend and I swung Irie Gastorpubliko in I.T park plaza Cebu, many things popped inside my head bout the restaurant. I’ve wanted to visit this place for quite some time now and given the chance after I got some GC's from zerothreetwo.com raffle on twitter, off of ideas, I was just so excited to dine there.

We were welcomed by high ceilings, wooden furniture, velvet couches and hip interiors all come together to allege an appeased atmosphere for everyone. My friend and I settled on a table for two near the glass wall which gave a brighter view outside. Irie Gastropubliko is a fused pub and restaurant serving liquor and food at the same time. That's why its GastroPUBliko (food=Gastro, Pub=public) ~this place is good for payday parties with your workmates where you can eat and have few drinks from the bar while talking bout your jobs and your boss. ~WE'LL DRINK TO THAT! :D 

Twas a lil crowded Saturday payday night so I expected our orders will take time before it'll be laid in front of us so I used the time of waiting for the food to wander my eyes around the place. The place was full of cool soft music that could still allow conversations to flow. The lighting was fine and dandy, except on our side (can't get natural lighting from the room for my pics :/) 

Their menu was small and detailed, when handed to our hands we promptly ordered our food and decided to have the Angus Burger for me and the Fat Bastard for my friend. 

I had the Angus burger US Sirloin Beef and came with fries. First, the patty had this peculiar flavor not really familiar to my palate and off the beat they had it so unique that even how simple that dish was, it's incomparable. Second, the texture was really fine, not the usual smokey, crispy and very juicy one, it was something new for me and my buddy. Third, I never thought i'd ever exemplify beef as cool and refreshing as that. It just came out as a bomb :) 

My friend had the Fat bastard, Bacon greased seared pork chop with bacon arugula salad, pepper-cranberry vinaigrette and garlic rice.

Lets get this from the top, twas a real fat one but unexpectedly, the sauce brought the scrumptious flavor out from the box (hope they added more tho). Attacking the Fat Bastard which my friend earnestly shared his dish with me (this comes out that I really have a big appetite :P ) I could say that this was a typical-but-not-being-mellow, It was enough to feed the food monster hiding inside of your body. LOL! :P The serving was big (tho it required a lot of the knifing thing) and the arugula salad was sufficient :)  

I also wanna give praise to their house blend iced tea, this was also awesome:)

Unsuccessful- teary eyed- But HAPPY :)

The day of my burger challenge has finally arrived,

Last Sunday November 27 at around 4:20 PM, i arrived at Dong Juan One mango branch craving and nervous. As I pushed the door to enter, the shaking of my nerves inside my body was growling differently. When I came in, I see the good aura of the restaurant. Paintings on the walls and even the Catholic spirit of the Cebuanos where present, I found a Sto. Niño placed at the corner of place near the cashiers table.  

The Place is Gloomy, and cozy good place to chill while filling up your hungry stomach :)


I was very nervous and my heart was pounding very very very much maybe because of the mixed emotions- excitement, thrilled, craving and tension. But then it passed all the while when the waver was placed on my table readily for me to sign up,

After signing the Waver, I was waiting for Natasha to come and cheer for my Burger challenge. I was alone for a while so what would I expect for myself? Silence of course :) Few minutes later, At last NatNat came along and I began to be talkative, we are talking how excited i am. The truth is Sunday is always my CHEAT DAY- so going to Dong Juan I am not that Hungry, I didn't had the time to jog, or do some exercise that day, Laziness filled me and sadness had overflown.

Let's go back to my challenge, I am the first female challenger who took the challenge in One mango Branch. Fantastic one dude, I am the only brave girl who wants to join only on one mango. One of the female chef's in Dong Juan prepared this appetizing, Flaming, ravishing Dong Juan Double D' Burger :) This is my first Man v Food challenge, Adam Richman, you are my inspiration :) Go!

I was Shocked! Oh God, seeing the basket made he bloat, I was freakin and more nervous when the waitress placed the burger in front of me. I was thinking if i could really finished it in lesser time but i really don't know--- BLANK >.<

I examined the burger and it was very big. The first thing that popped my mind was to go home or go somewhere else, hahahaha, the time started it deed!! Hoo Iwas eating very slowly but then, I was half way from it, I told them to stop the time because I can't take the chili paste anymore, It makes me wanna spit out all I ate. Chili paste on my fingers, on my face and on the basket. My tears wanna fall down and my sweat were larger than usual. The Challenge is done it is done :) And now my heart was happier, and my tummy is now FULL.

I am very happy :) very much, after the challenge I realize that i'm not good in food challenges, I am a girl and I can't beat the ability of the boys in eating, I could eat a lot but it would take me a longer time. But then it was a fun experience :)

First food challenge :)

Stress, Boredom, sleepless nights, yawning & daydreaming that's how I describe school. But then life is always like that we can't just change anything to the things that we think are better. Life is bitter I guess, a friend always tell me that. After the stressed looooonnnnngggg days it's time to enjoy :)

Justinne or i fondly call her "ineng" invited me to join a fantastic burger challenge at Dong Juan Cebu a Restaurant which serves more of yummy slash delicious comfort foods.

All you need to do is eat a pleasant and yummy Double Spicy patty burger and beat the current time, 2 mins and 40 seconds. That's kinda easy to think but that challenge opened  my bumpy food melting heart to reach out  and join of course. I do have a big appetite for food, I could eat anything as long as my stomach can digest it and make me absolutely full and happy :) 

The challenge started last October and will end this 30Th of November. I'll take the burger challenge at Dong Juan mango one branch tomorrow afternoon actually. Babe For Food gave me an advise to jog for awhile or do some sporty activity that day so that it could make me hungry and crave out for something. Due to the excitement of joining the challenge. I terribly missed the Burp Burger in school, been in suffer of not eating a burger meal for a week because if this challenge.

I'm excited and tremendously nervous about it, what if i can't finish this thing ??
